Attachment Styles Through the Lens of Flavour

Dec 5, 20249 min read

Attachment is the operating system; flavour is the interface. Secure, anxious, dismissive-avoidant, and fearful-avoidant patterns show up as different dating “tastes.”

Anxious flavours tend to amplify bids for closeness. Avoidant flavours protect autonomy. Secure flavours can do both — ask and give space.

You are not stuck with one attachment forever. Earned security grows through relationships (and self-work) that make repair predictable.

Use the flavour grid as a compass: notice who you chase, who you avoid, and what that says about the need underneath.
